Drake - Hold On We're Going Home Official Auto-Tune Settings

The Vocal Performance

In "Hold On, We're Going Home," Drake delivers one of his most iconic melodic performances—blending hip-hop swagger with silky R&B crooning over a bouncy, feel-good groove that feels like a modern classic. The track's nostalgic 80s funk-soul vibe made it a massive crossover hit, instantly turning dancefloors into sing-along moments. These precise Auto-Tune settings are the secret sauce: they lock the pitch just enough to give Drake's voice that hypnotic, polished sheen while preserving raw emotion and groove—exactly why this sound became the blueprint for a decade of melodic rap and R&B.

The Vocal Chain & Studio Gear

Drake’s vocals on this 2013 classic were captured with his signature high-end chain: a Sony C800G large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone running through a Neve 1073 preamp for rich, warm presence. Light compression—often a Universal Audio LA-2A or Tube-Tech CL1B—keeps things smooth and intimate before the Auto-Tune stage. This workflow, refined in the OVO studio with Noah “40” Shebib, gives Drake’s voice that expensive, radio-ready polish that defined the Nothing Was the Same era.

Track Facts & Production Trivia

  1. I want to say thanks for posting these settings up! I see that you reply to some people that leave comments so this is a perfect chance for me to get some information. Your samples sound so crispy and almost like the actual song. My BIG problem and question is, how? I use FL Studio, and the problem that occurs. When I open up Autotune EVO and put the exact settings you do I get no effect or hardly any effect at all. If it does give some type of effect it sounds awful. What am I doing wrong? I want good autotune but can't seem to achieve it. Please take time to respond. Take care!

    1. 2 Things could be going on here, 1st there might be interference with your vocals, such as un-needed noise, background room noise, computer hissing. The 2nd thing that could be going on is that you have too many vst's on top of Auto-Tune, make sure that Auto-Tune is the first vst on the channel which you have your vocal tracked to. No as for the Crispness, there's no preset that I can give you to say that it guarantees crispness, just mess around with an EQ higher the mids and highs until you get the desired results, if you don't have a deep voice, than remove bass from vocals completely. Hope this could help.
